One games sell themselves through gameplay, second one sell themselves through visuals. And then there's Pixel Washer, which manages to sell itself through its premise alone.

Let's be honest.

A game about a pig whose life mission is to clean mud off the entire world?

That's exactly the kind of absurd concept I love.

But before talking about the gameplay itself, I need to mention something else.

Ah, Acclaim...

Your logo still brings back wonderful memories. Re-Volt remains one of my favorite childhood games, and its soundtrack can still trigger dangerous levels of nostalgia.

That's why I was genuinely excited when I saw the Acclaim logo while launching Pixel Washer. Knowing they are publishing the game immediately caught my attention.

Thankfully, the gameplay itself is just as charming as the premise.

Our heroic pig travels across various levels armed with a pressure washer, fighting against mountains of mud and dirt. The gameplay loop is simple, but it works exactly as a cozy game like this should.

And most importantly...

YOU CAN OINK.

I don't know whether "oinking" deserves its own review category, but the fact remains:

You can make pig noises.

10/10.

Alright, back to the review.

One feature I genuinely appreciated was the dirt highlighting system. Dirty objects emit visible stink effects, making it easier to locate areas that still need cleaning.

And trust me...

This saved me from prematurely turning gray at least twice.

Every PowerWash Simulator fan knows that finding that one missing pixel of dirt can sometimes take longer than cleaning the entire map.

Unfortunately, not everything feels equally polished.

My biggest concern is the mouse control. There seems to be a slight input delay that occasionally makes aiming feel less responsive than I would like. I'm not entirely sure whether this is an intentional design choice or something that will be adjusted before release.

The demo includes six playable maps. One of them is even a Memory-style mini-game where you flip cards and try to match pairs.

Honestly, it was a nice little change of pace.

Throughout the demo I also collected currency, but I never found a way to spend it. My assumption is that the full game will use it for pressure washer upgrades or additional unlockable features.

And that brings me to my biggest issue with the demo.

It left me wanting more.

A lot more.

It feels like the developers only showed a tiny fraction of what Pixel Washer is ultimately supposed to become. Six maps and a single basic washer simply aren't enough to properly evaluate the progression systems or future mechanics.

I would have loved to test equipment upgrades, washer modifications, new tools, and all the other features that will likely be available in the full release.

Unfortunately, the demo ends precisely when I was starting to get invested.

Would I recommend it?

Right now, it's difficult to give a definitive answer.

If the final price is reasonable and the full game expands on the systems that were only hinted at in the demo, Pixel Washer could become a very enjoyable experience for fans of cozy cleaning simulators.

However, I won't assign a score yet.

The demo simply didn't provide enough content for me to honestly say whether this is a 6/10, 8/10, or 10/10 game.

I got a small sample.

I liked it.

And now I'm waiting for the full meal.
